The Challenge
Milton Public Library (MPL) empowers their local community to read, learn, create and connect, and they wanted a new website that would do the same. The site had to position MPL as a place of inspiration and collaboration, and promote and communicate their services to patrons and the community. We needed to make the site easy to use for patrons and the MPL team too when they made content updates. The site had to reflect Milton’s brand fonts and colours and set them apart from typical library websites.

Our Solution
The homepage features a full screen ambient background video to add movement and communicate the breadth of the library’s services. We also incorporated the bee, which is at the core of MPL’s branding and symbolizes a hive of activity for the local community, into our design. Structurally, we simplified site architecture and targeted navigation for multiple user types. Bespoke elements include a searchable, filterable library for accessing eResources, eCard registration and renewal, advanced search function, and a landing page in seven different languages.
